The name of the hotel gives away the location of the building on the "Taschenberg". It is situated next to the residence palace and opposite of the Zwinger in the heart of the historical old town of Dresden. The famous sights such as the Semperoper (Saxon State Opera Dresden) and the Frauenkirche are just a few minutes away.

At the start of the 18th century at the peak of the Baroque period the building was commissioned by Augustus II. as a gift to his mistress Countess of Cosel. After its destruction in 1945 is stood like Dresden Castle which are connected through a bridge with each other as ruins in the old town of Dresden until 1992. On the 31st of March 1995 it was reopened as the first 5 star hotel in Saxony.
The rooms and suites are enchanting and correspond perfectly with the cityscape of Dresden reflecting Baroque charm, stylish elegance and modern luxury.
There is also a large spa area with pool, solarium and sauna, fitness centre and beauty farm as well as countess massage treatments.
The guests have a 24 hour reception at their disposal. Palais Suite: (around 75 m²); bedroom with king size bed, separate living room, guest toilet, bidet, view on the Dresdner castle.

Kronprinzen Suite: (around 360 m²); four bedrooms with four bathrooms, carefully selected furniture from the 19th century, with stately double wing doors and high ceilings, a salon with a private room, various seating accommodations and long dining table, a further salon as a conference or dining room (max. 16 persons), kitchenette, 18 telephones, 6 mini bars, safe, 6 TVs as well as DVD players and stereo, view on the historic Dresden.

In the restaurants "Intermezzo" and "Palais Bistro" exquisite dishes with Mediterranean influence and French flair are served – the perfect place for gourmets. During the summer months you can enjoy your meals on the terrace in a quiet courtyard whether in the evening or at breaktfast time. Those with a sweet tooth will find "Café Vestibül" to their liking as fine Saxon patisserie creation are offered here. The "Karl May Bar" is the place for all connoisseurs and lovers of a good drop and best wines.
